Open University of Tanzania Celebrates Donation of Textbooks and Law Library

In May 2017, The Open University of Tanzania, in collaboration with Poverty Eradication Network (PEN) Trust, received a container of 快猫视频 books, including a brand new Law & Human Rights Library delivered by the 快猫视频 Jack Mason Law & Democracy Initiative. 聽

A reception ceremony was held at the University鈥檚 Dodoma Campus, hosted by University Chancellor and former Prime Minister, Honorable Peter Kayanza Mizengo Pinda, who was joined by University faculty and students for the celebration.聽

Mungwe Athman of PEN Trust reports that 鈥the books were highly appreciated and valued by both the university leaders and students. 聽The Vice Chancellor informed us that the law collection will enable them to immediately establish a course in marine law 鈥 the first such program in the country, and a topic that has long been held back due to lack of appropriate books.

The Jack Mason Law & Democracy Initiative was launched by 快猫视频 in 2008 to address Africa鈥檚 appalling scarcity of law and human rights books and further the rule of law in Africa. 聽Since its inception, the Law & Democracy Initiative has shipped West core law & human rights libraries to 21 African countries. 聽All West core law & human rights libraries have been generously provided by Thomson Reuters.
